IMC Review
An Injury Management Consultant (IMC) is a doctor with significant experience in work related illness/ injury who has been approved by the State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA). The insurer or your employer may refer your case to them to help overcome barriers which are stalling recovery and return to work.
An IMC assesses case documentation, may examine the worker if necessary and discusses & negotiates solutions with relevant parties.
An IMC does not direct treatment, give opinion on causation or liability and does not undertake functional capacity evaluation. An IMC is different from an IME.
SIRA has developed an IMC referral form to promote the provision of appropriate information in the referral.

Health Practitioner authorised to give evidence
A health practitioner must be authorised to give evidence in court and other dispute resolution proceedings in the NSW Compulsory Third Party (CTP) Scheme.
Referrals to give evidence can be made by the person with an injury, the insurer, or their respective legal representative.
